Freak building accident fatally injures teenager

A college student in Yulin, Shaanxi province, died after a freak accident on Feb 6 when he took hold of an archway to do a pull-up and was fatally injured when the arch collapsed.

The student, surnamed Wang, 19, was visiting his uncle in Huangtuliang village in the city when he went with some of his cousins to play in an entertainment place near the village. While passing under the archway, Wang grabbed onto the arch to do the pull-up but the construction suddenly collapsed, burying him under the bricks. Wang was quickly pulled out of the rubble and taken to a local hospital, but he died on the way.
