CSA: Ages of two Zhangs are real

BEIJING - The Chinese Skating Association (CSA), which was embroiled in age fraud allegation this week, officially announced on Friday that the ages of 2006 Winter Olympic silver medallists Zhang Dan and Zhang Hao were registered at international events and were above board.

"I confirm here that Zhang Hao was born on July 6, 1984, while Zhang Dan was born on Oct 4, 1985, which is in accordance with information registered from international competitions," Zhao Yinggang, director of China's Winter Sports Administrative Center, told a press conference on Friday.

"The ages on our website days were not correct, which drew great attention. Through our double checking and investigation, we found that the mistakes were made during the procedure of information collection, typing in and confirmation," Zhao said.
