BEIJING - The newly elected Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Secretary-General Nguyen Phu Trong will visit China later this year, an embassy official told China Daily on Friday.
This will be the first visit of a CPV secretary-general to China since 2008.
"The two countries' international departments' chiefs discussed the visit this morning and said it will happen this year," Nguyen Vinh Quang, minister and deputy chief of the mission at the embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Beijing, told China Daily.
