Soul searching to find my real home

I went back to my native country of Singapore for Chinese new year. It was my first time home during the festive season for six years and I very much missed the cheers and magnificent fireworks that illuminate Beijing's skyline.
After a few days back home, it struck me that the surroundings seemed "new", despite the fact I grew up there.
The incessant honking of car horns was missing and the roads were surreally silent. Yet, there were many familiar sights, like authentic Chongqing hotpot, dumplings, Beijing duck and Sichuan restaurants, all of which helped make me feel "at home".
