Developing cooperation

China's national economic output has joined the world's front ranks and its people's living standards have been rising. However, China's development is still unbalanced and China is still a developing country, says an article in People's Daily Overseas Edition. Excerpts:

Considering China's large population, it is still a developing country. It is true that after the foundation of new China in 1949, and especially after reform and opening-up, we have made great achievements. However, the United States, with a population about a quarter that of China, has an economic scale 1.4 times greater than China's, which clearly shows that China's economic level is far below that of the developed countries.
