Anti-AIDS drive brings succour to syndrome victims

BEIJING - Every New Year, Hu Hailan is reminded of a 3-year-old girl who died as a result of contracting AIDS.

The teacher from Liangshan Yi autonomous prefecture, Sichuan province, told China Daily the first time she visited the girl was unforgettable.

Hu said she almost choked on a vile smell when the girl was taken from her bedroom. The girl's aunt untied a wet towel wrapped around the youngster to reveal her naked body.
