Retail, food sectors take in billions during Spring Festival holiday

BEIJING - China's holiday spending surged by 19 percent year-on-year during the seven-day Spring Festival "golden week", one of the highest increases in a decade, giving fresh support for the country's measures to boost domestic demand, analysts said on Wednesday.
