Public warms to US, as political acts sway opinion

BEIJING - Attitudes in China toward the United States have improved in the last five years, particularly among younger generations, a survey has found.

A survey, which was jointly conducted by China Daily and HorizonHorizon Research Consultancy Group found the average likeability factor for the US among the public was 55.1 from 2006 to 2010, a rise from 40.54 between 2001 and 2005.

The factor is measured by a poll that asks respondents to rate countries on a scale of 1 to 100.
