Six-Party Talks 'best way' to resolve Korea nuke standoff

China Daily | Updated: 2011-01-15 07:46

BEIJING - The Six-Party Talks offer a more suitable venue than the United Nations Security Council to resolve the nuclear standoff on the Korean peninsula, a senior Chinese diplomat said on Friday.

Vice-Foreign Minister Cui Tiankai made the comments in Beijing ahead of President Hu Jintao's state visit to the United States next week.

Cui, who was speaking at a forum hosted by the Foreign Ministry, reiterated that China remains committed to the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.
