Sun Yat-sen's granddaughter in intensive care after serious crash

TAIPEI - The granddaughter of modern China's founder, Sun Yat-sen, is reportedly regaining consciousness after being severely injured in a car accident near Taipei on Saturday morning.

Nora Sun received wishes for a speedy recovery from Taiwan leader Ma Ying-jeou, who asked senior Taiwan government official Liao Liou-yi to get firsthand updates on her status from the hospital.

The 72-year-old, who sustained multiple severe injuries, has been regaining consciousness and responsiveness, while her head trauma has been alleviating, Chinataiwan.org reported, citing a physician from the hospital's trauma department.
