Frequent flier plan hits 10m mark

China Eastern Airlines recently celebrated the number of its Eastern Miles members exceeding 10 million. The Shanghai-based carrier said its members would enjoy more value-added services in 2011.

Liu Shaoyong, general manager of China Eastern Air Holding Co and chairman of the China Eastern Airlines Co Ltd, Li Jun, Party secretary of China Eastern Air Holding Co, and Ma Xulun, general manager of China Eastern Airlines Co Ltd, attended the ceremony. A host of celebrities from showbiz and sports, together with 300 distinguished guests also witnessed the grand ceremony.

Themed as "thanksgiving and feedback", it was aimed at thanking frequent fliers who have supported the growth of the carrier over the past two years. In his speech Liu said the airline had navigated the challenges posed by the World Expo, to post healthy growth.
