Deeper cooperation with other countries' industries

A senior government official is calling for deeper cooperation in mining between China and other nations to help the industry recover from the global economic crisis.

"Countries across the globe have complementary resources - only cooperation can lead to mutual benefit in the world's mining economy," Wang Min, vice-minister of land and resources, and director of the China Geological Survey, said at the China Mining Congress and Expo that began in Tianjin on Tuesday.

China's mineral market regained momentum in the second quarter last year, which also helped the global industry, he said.
