Comment on "Wrecking ball smashes hope of affordability" (China Daily, Oct 15)

The news that Beijing began demolishing some government-subsidized poor-quality buildings from August is surprising. Why does a benevolent business become a mournful event all of a sudden?

Though all levels of governments want to improve people's living standards, some of them lack the responsibility of "doing a good thing better".
