Thief fakes kidnapping to pay off victims
Police in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, have detained a man who faked his own kidnapping for a petty 2,000 yuan ($300).
On Oct 5, a woman phoned the police, saying her relative, named Du, may have been kidnapped as she had just received a call for a 2,000-yuan ransom.
