UN Security Council gets five new members

NEW YORK - India, South Africa, Colombia, Germany and Portugal were elected on Tuesday as new non-permanent members of the UN Security Council to take over the five seats of Turkey, Austria, Japan, Mexico and Uganda on Jan 1, 2011 and serve for two years.
