Reform not yuan appreciation

China on Tuesday told market players to become accustomed to two-way exchange-rate movements, saying its currency reform policy did not necessarily equate to yuan appreciation.

"The emphasis is more on the improvement of the currency-formation mechanism," the State Administration of Foreign Exchange said in a report about China's first-half payments balance.
