Sixth the ‘maximum’ for Schumi at suzuka

China Daily | Updated: 2010-10-11 08:12

Michael Schumacher said he achieved the "maximum" after a hard-charging drive to sixth place for Mercedes in Sunday's Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka.

The 41-year-old, who won at the famed circuit six times in his days with Benetton and Ferrari, had his best result since the Turkish Grand Prix in May, when he finished fourth.

The German started the race from 10th on the grid, passed former Ferrari teammate Rubens Barrichello of Williams on Lap 7, and then had a feisty scrap with Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg, which ended on Lap 48 when Rosberg crashed heavily at Turn 7.
