Hamilton's chances fading after Japan GP

SUZUKA, Japan - Lewis Hamilton finally finished a race, but his hopes for the Formula One championship took a major blow at Sunday's Japanese Grand Prix.

Hamilton finished fifth in the race at Suzuka and is now 28 points behind leader Mark Webber with just three races left.

"I'm a bit disappointed in myself," Hamilton said after the race. "The team has been doing everything to score points. On my part, I made a big mistake on Friday and then had the gearbox problem."
