Li: Games provided fuel at right time

BEIJING - Li Yuanwei, China's former basketball chief, still remembers how Chinese fans were carried away when the first NBA China Game tipped off in Shanghai in 2004.
Before that, fans had been watching the NBA games on TV for almost 20 years.
That long-suppressed passion exploded when the first NBA China Game was played between the Houston Rockets and the Sacramento Kings.
