Boozer undergoes surgery
Carlos Boozer, a two-time NBA all-star forward obtained by Chicago from Utah in the off-season, underwent surgery on a broken right hand on Tuesday and is expected to miss two months of the upcoming season.
Boozer fractured the fifth metacarpal bone on Saturday, saying he fell over a bag at his home, the Bulls announced.
Boozer signed a five-year deal worth almost $75 million with the Bulls after playing the past six seasons with the Jazz. He averaged 19.5 points and 11.2 rebounds a game last season for Utah.
The Bulls hope Boozer and Joakim Noah will provide inside power in hopes of improving upon their first-round playoff ousters the past two seasons.
