Nation offers helping hand to world's needy

BEIJING - China is intensifying its efforts to further push forward the country's international aid while it is rising as a major donor of international aid and humanitarian efforts, with this year marking the 60th anniversary of the cause.

While grappling with its own poverty and other difficulties in its modernization process, China has actively promoted cooperation in global development to achieve win-win results with its partners.

Since 1950, China has provided aid to more than 160 countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the South Pacific through nearly 2,000 aid projects including agriculture, construction, transportation, healthcare and education, according to the Ministry of Commerce.
