Shanghai to host Automechanika show

Automechanika Shanghai, Asia's largest trade fair for automotive parts, equipment and services, will take place from Dec 8-11 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre.
Organized by Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co Ltd and the China National Automotive Industry International Corporation, the sixth edition expects to attract a record-breaking 2,800 exhibitors and more than 45,000 professional buyers.
The show once again demonstrates its role as an international trading service hub for the automotive industry with nine overseas pavilions already confirmed from France, Germany, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Spain, Thailand and the US, as well as China's Taiwan.
Many well-known manufacturers and suppliers of parts and components, as well as repair and maintenance equipment will exhibit at the show.
Parts and components exhibitors showcasing their latest products and innovations at the show will include Asia-Pacific Mechanical and Electronics, Chen Hsong, China and Canton Clutch, Dayco, Dow Corning, Fiamm, Galaxy, Hangzhou Westlake, Honeywell, Jingang, Raybestos Powertrain, Qianjiang Spring, SORL Auto Parts, Unipoint, Wuxi Weifu, Zhejiang VIE and Xinyi Automobile Fitting.
Taiwan company Unipoint Electric Mfg Co Ltd is one of the world's largest manufacturers of starters and alternators, temperature control units and wiper blades. It aims to showcase its latest products and increase brand awareness, particularly in the mainland market.
"Automechanika Shanghai is one of China's best automotive trade fairs which helps us find new customers and learn about the latest market trends," said Dong Zhaocai, export manager of Wuxi Weifu, China's biggest diesel pump and parts manufacturer.
Also exhibiting their latest products will be Fiamm SPA from Italy, the world's leading supplier of car horns, which supplies renowned automakers such as BMW, Chrysler, Fiat, Ferrari, Mercedes Benz, Mitsubishi and Volkswagen.
Repair and maintenance equipment exhibitors Balance, Bright Technology, Corghi, Dali, Ever-eternal, Giuliano, ITW, Launch Tech, Piusi, Stanley, Xianghong and Yingkou Liming are optimistic about the Chinese automotive market.
Giuliano Automotive Equipment (Suzhou) Co Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary company of Giuliano SPA from Italy. Specializing in tire changers for cars and trucks, pneumatic platform lifts, electro-hydraulic lifts, wheel-balancers and testing equipment, the company will showcase its new product, Crossage, an automatic tilt-back touchless tire changer.
ITW Performance Polymers and Fluids China is a subsidiary of US company ITW. It produces adhesives, sealants, encapsulating and sanitation materials and lubricants.
Jason Xiao, ITW's sales manager, said: "China will soon become the world's largest auto repair and maintenance equipment market. Buyers are interested in quality products and services. Automechanika Shanghai is a good opportunity to help our buyers learn more about our products and services."
Sharing a similar view was Ever-eternal Automotive Equipment Co Ltd which will showcase their latest lift at the show. Wang Kui, the company's manager, said: "The fair is a gateway to the international auto market. It gathers buyers and professionals from around the globe and provides an excellent platform to share the latest technical information in the industry."
Automechanika Shanghai is one of 14 global Automechanika fairs held in Asia, Europe, North America, South America and Africa.
Messe Frankfurt is Germany's leading trade fair organizer. Last year, Messe Frankfurt organized more than 90 trade fairs, of which more than half took place outside Germany.
Another important fair under the Messe Frankfurt brand will be Water Expo China 2010, held at the National Convention Center in Beijing from Nov 17-19. Sponsored by China's Ministry of Water Resources, it is the nation's only official show for the water industry.
The show is organized by Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co Ltd and the Chinese Hydraulic Engineering Society. Last year, it attracted 252 exhibitors from 18 countries and regions and 10,239 visitors from 30 countries and regions. An increase in exhibitor and visitor numbers is expected this year.
