Overlooked treasures are worth the effort

I have a confession to make: the Forbidden City's Palace Museum is not my favorite museum in Beijing.

Okay, the Forbidden City's halls are truly stunning, but many have been recently closed for renovation. For a really great

panoramic view of these buildings, just go to the top of Coal Hill in Jingshan Park.
