City puppy

Look into a pair of dark soulful eyes, set wide apart on a large square head with a rounded forehead. With distinctive bat ears sitting erect above its short face and punched-in little nose, this sturdy, compact clown of a dog will likely scamper toward you in search of a friendly game as soon as you set eyes on each other.

Meet the French Bulldog - a pleasant lively, hilarious and affectionate companion dog, sometimes described as "a clown in the cloak of a philosopher".

Despite its name, the French Bulldog or "Frenchie" hails from England, not France. It originated in 19th-century Nottingham as a miniature lap version of the English Bulldog. However, it was the French who popularized the breed after its introduction to France during the Industrial Revolution.
