Time and money for white dolphins are signs of hope

The assessment report on the construction of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge has been published by the Ministry of Agriculture.

We are glad to know that the report gave much consideration to the protection of the Chinese white dolphins.

The construction of a section of the bridge will run through the Chinese white dolphin national nature reserve in the Pearl River, which causes concern that the lives of the endangered animal might be affected. Experts organized by the office for the protection of aquatic wild animals and plants under the agricultural ministry assessed the situation late last month and suggested that the construction be suspended during the mating season of the animal from April to August every year.
