When the National People's Congress (NPC) and Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) were being held in Beijing in March 2009, the China Taiwanese Association presented all CPPCC members with a set of postcards promoting traditional Chinese culture.
The set included 10 postcards printed with the Peking opera paintings created by Liu Linghua, among which was the famous painting The Drunken Beauty.
CPPCC members, such as famous Peking opera artists Mei Baojiu and Ye Shaolan; along with vice-president of the Hong Kong K.Wah Group, Lui Yiu Tung; and vice-president of Nanjing Political Consultative Conference, Sun Nanxiong, all expressed their appreciation for the set of postcards of The Drunken Beauty. Mei said the postcards were "a perfect combination of an oil painting and the quintessence of the Chinese culture".
The magazine, China CPPCC, wrote a report based on The Drunken Beauty in March and the story was very well received among CPPCC delegates.
