Hike to Moss Mountain

This hike starts at the Walled Village, a converted army barracks that used to house soldiers tasked with guarding the Great Wall in the area. Participants will investigate the ruins of what locals say was the original White Cloud Temple in the Beijing area, as well as a 500-year old ginkgo tree that has a Level 1 Natural Treasure rating. From there, we will follow a trail that climbs gradually through chestnut orchards to a big pine tree at a pass on the ridgeline.
