The Drunken Beauty helps charities

Embroideries of the famous painting, The Drunken Beauty, have been both donated and auctioned to help various charitable activities. It went for a high price at the Illuminating Wishes auction, part of the well-known charitable event, True Love Under the Blue Sky, held in Shanghai.
All proceeds from the auction were donated to the Shanghai Charity Foundation. The donors of the embroideries included foreigners and famous TV host, Ye Huixian.
An embroidery of The Drunken Beauty also went for a high price at a charitable auction in Qingdao. The proceeds were donated to the Sichuan earthquake relief through the Red Cross Society of Qingdao.
It was also the first to go in an auction in Hong Kong. Elsie Leung Oi-sie, the former Secretary for Justice of Hong Kong, donated an embroidered The Drunken Beauty, which she had previously received from the All-China Taiwanese Association.
The embroidery was auctioned off for HK$128,000 (111,700 yuan). The money will be used to support charitable activities in Hong Kong.
The connection between The Drunken Beauty and charitable causes continues in China.
