Student attacked by minor gang

Five minor suspects who are minors were arrested Sunday for allegedly attacking a junior high school student, Beijing Evening News reported. Police received a report that a student surnamed Zhang was beaten up Friday afternoon by a gang, which fled the scene when authorities arrived. The boy was being treated at a local hospital.

The suspects were arrested early Sunday morning. They reportedly told police the fight occurred after Zhang asked for a cigarette from one of their friends.
