Woman taken hostage in holdup sues bank

A woman who was held hostage during a bank robbery last year is suing the bank for alleged lax security, demanding compensation for her injuries.

The trial was heard Friday in Fengtai district court.

The plaintiff, surnamed Qiao, was held and injured in the robbery of a Yangqiao branch of China Construction Bank. Qiao, a 47-year-old, was a cleaner at the bank and is seeking 80,000 yuan for emotional distress.
