Pair accused of stealing cell tower cooling units

Bad connections for several callers as thieves target masts

Two men who allegedly stole nearly 50 air conditioners from cellular signal towers, leading to weakened cell phone signals in parts of Beijing have been apprehended.

So far, 10 cases of theft have been identified and more than 10 of the machines retrieved, according to a Chaoyang district police bulletin released on Wednesday. Police said several other suspects are being questioned.
