By Zhang Zixuan | China Daily | Updated: 2010-06-14 07:24

Police have arrested 27 suspects who allegedly swindled 450 million yuan in fake point-of-sale (POS) deals.

Beijing municipal public security bureau said on Sunday that they began an initiative on June 7, code-named "607", to root out criminal dens using POS terminal devices illegally.

The Economic Investigating Department of Beijing police department, along with the public security bureaus of Xicheng, Chaoyang, Haidian, Fengtai and Changping districts, dispatched 165 officers to run the cleanup.
