Increasing the nation's copyright awareness and legal knowledge should begin with the youth, said Su Zhigang, head of the Institute of Photography at the Beijing Film Academy, who is also a renowned expert in photography.
Photographs are one of the most common copyrighted works encountered in daily life, so not surprisingly, they account for a large proportion of intellectual property cases, he said.
Su told China Daily that young students must be aware of the importance of copyrights before they create photographic works and learn to protect them with the legal tools available.
