Biscuit-robber gets three years

A migrant worker who stole snack food worth less than 20 yuan from a supermarket last year was sentenced to three years in prison and fined 6,000 yuan, Daxing district police disclosed on Tuesday.
Not having eaten for a whole day, a college dropout surnamed Xu entered a supermarket in Daxing district's Yinghai town on May 17, 2009.
He stole one bag of biscuits, one can of Coke, two bags of red plums and one pack of cigarettes, worth a total 19.5 yuan, from the supermarket.
