A group of Hollywood animation masters who are scheduled to give a three-day course have got cold shoulders from Chinese cartoonists because of the high tuition fee and lack of promotion.
The four experts, including the producer of Shrek, Aron Warner, and the producer of Crash, Jan Korbelin, are giving the lectures, which began Monday and continue through Wednesday at the animation school of the Communication University of China (CUC).
As many as 25 professional cartoon-makers in China applied for the 5,000-yuan course, according to the program organizer, Tuo Ya. Tuo said she will lose about 400,000 yuan on the project.
