Clampdown on cheating

By Wang Wei | China Daily | Updated: 2010-06-07 07:57

BEIJING - Governments have tightened their supervision of cheating in the country's make-or-break College Entrance Exam to be held this Monday and Tuesday and vowed to crack down on any illegal behavior.

The Ministry of Education said on Saturday it was aware of promotions offering to sell "the answers to the university entrance examination" over the Internet, as well as via e-mail and text messages. In addition to advocating cheating on the exams, the sales ploys cheat students out of their money.

The ministry has vowed to conduct a thorough investigation of the illicit activity and warned that it will severely punish anyone caught engaging in fraudulent behavior.
