Film fest aims to be Asia's 'Cannes'

Region is main source of growth in entertainment
SINGAPORE - Singapore hopes to become the "Cannes" of Asia in 2011 when it stages the "ScreenSingapore" film festival, which will premiere Asian films and previews of US blockbusters and hopefully attract Hollywood's A-list.
Scheduled for June, organizers say it is ideally placed between the Cannes film festival in France and the big Hollywood summer film season.
