The modern drama Stockholm Adventurer is inspired by a real kidnap case that took place in Austria.
In March 1998, Natascha Kampusch was kidnapped by Wolfgang Priklopil, and was held in a secret cellar for more than eight years, before she finally escaped in 2006.
Stockholm Adventurer focuses on a middle-aged salesman Mai Mang, who rescues a young girl Xiao La from a kidnapper by accident and is called a "hero". As a result, he appears on many TV programs, including psychological consultant Du's talk show.
