Clever set design hallmark of beloved opera

The image of a camellia fills the giant backdrop half way across the stage. It turns from black and white into color. The tremulous chords of La Traviata's prelude wafts from the pit. People both in front of and behind that screen seem to be milling around and settling the assets of someone who has just died.
