Around about March I was ready to pack it in for the year and couldn't wait for the Red Sox season to swing away.

Using my best French, the Celtics sucked ... big time ... and all the talk was about who would meet the juggernaut Lakers in the NBA finals, LeBron's Cavs or Superman's Magic.

Then, a funny thing happened when it came playoff time, the listless, loafing, beaten-up, old team which flopped into the finals fell into the fountain of youth Ponce de Len is still seeking.
