Communication is key

SHENZHEN - The annual plenary meeting of the city's people's congress, or the legislative body, is offering simultaneous interpretation services in English in order to accommodate more than 20 foreign observers.

They were invited to attend the opening ceremony of the southern city's important meeting, where the mayors will submit a work report for approval from the local legislature.

The consuls of a number of foreign embassies located in Guangzhou, foreign entrepreneurs and politically-inclined expatriates have also been invited to attend the formal meeting, which opened on Monday and runs until the weekend.
