Students take a swipe at new dorm access card system

By Wang Wei | China Daily | Updated: 2010-05-27 07:51

The first ever automatic card swiping system was installed at the dormitory entrance of Beijing Normal University (BNU) on Tuesday, said to be a measure to tighten campus security.

But some students are complaining the newly installed machine is limiting their freedom.

The machine, installed at the entrance of the No 14 building, a dormitory, is similar to the gates found in Beijing subway entrances. Students enter the building by swiping their student cards.
