Five gambling dens closed by police

Twenty-six people were detained by Beijing police for illegal gambling in Changping district, as part of the crackdown on prostitution, gambling and drug dealing in the capital.

Five illegal gambling dens were raided on May 19 near the Huilongguan area in Changping district. In addition to the 26, Beijing police seized 60 gambling machines and 60,000 yuan.

"The owners installed gambling games in normal game machines, which could make them more than 10,000 yuan every day," said Ji Xueliang, deputy director of the public security department from Changpin police bureau.
