"Black taxi" drivers have apparently been driven away from Beijing West Railway Station by the prospect of a 10,000-yuan fine.
Over the weekend, the station moved to crack down on black taxis - private vehicles illegally carrying passengers for money - and a few drivers were caught and fined 10,000 yuan each.
"This seems to have done the trick," a Beijing West Railway Station city inspector surnamed Li said.
