CPI may rise 2.5% in H1

China's Consumer Price Index (CPI) may rise 2.5 percent year-on-year in the first half, predicted the National Development and Reform Commission. In April, the main measure of inflation increased 2.8 percent year-on-year, creating the fastest clip in 16 months. The commission said CPI growth in May and June might reach 3 percent given the low basis last year, despite the prices of food, especially fruits and vegetables, having declined.
