The nightlife scene in Shanghai is booming, especially in the popular bar areas of the Bund, the former French Concession and Jing'an district. Barflies are spoilt for choice, from smoky jazz bars to oh-so-chic nightclubs, raunchy dance clubs, to down-to-earth pubs and cheap-as-chips "dive bars".
