Two dead, one in hospital after high-rise tragedy

Police are trying to piece together the events leading up to the death of a 57-year-old woman who apparently jumped from her home on the 13th floor after killing her daughter and poisoning her husband.

The tragedy happened in Beijing's Tuanjiehu community, in Chaoyang district, early Wednesday.

The woman's husband, who is in his 60s, was found unconscious at the home with an overdose of diazepam. Police are understood to be working on the theory that the woman killed her daughter and attempted to kill her husband before killing herself.
