Q: Critics have said the film is divorced from real life, as a common office lady can't earn as much as Du Lala. How do you feel about that?

A: I never heard that. It's very funny. Actually, Du is a little figure in the beginning, she earns around 2,000 yuan a month. She gradually grows to make 160,000 yuan, or a bit more. Movies are a romantic art, which show the audience a beautiful life on the big screen. You can't take them too seriously. In addition, my film production team did their research and we did find someone who earned quite a lot and would happily spend one-month's income on buying a brand-name bag.
