Fewer cases of drunken driving on roads after tough rules

Cases of drunken driving dropped after the city intensified its patrols for road crimes in April, Beijing Evening News reported.

The number of drivers associated with drunken driving offences dropped 6.5 percent in April compared with March, according to statistics released by Beijing municipal traffic management authorities.

From April 1 to May 10, 571 drivers were detained for driving after drinking. The number for the same period last year was 681.
