Risky signs for civil service

It's a risky sign that parents are taking advantage of their high government positions to favor their children unfairly in civil service examinations, according to an article on Sichuanonline.com.cn. Excerpts:

Shi Jinli came first in a written test in Jiangxi's civil service examination. To snatch the only post on offer, the next high scorer Yang Hai, whose father is a provincial police officer, and his family, falsely accused Shi to deprive him of the chance to attend the interview. The Yangs' logic is: Before Shi can be proved innocent, the interview process will end and Yang can avoid competing against Shi. Of course, Yang's father wielded his influence to get his groundless frame-up officially investigated.
